Mosaic Tile Artist, Jan Comstock Dell'Ario, comes by her deep
commitment to "All the Arts" from a lifetime exploring
and creating in dance, drama, music and fine arts.
She had a desire to peruse the arts form early childhood, dancing
in several dance companies. After becoming an elementary school
teacher she utilized art to inspire her students. In 2002 she
and her family returned to her childhood home in Fullerton to
care for her aging father, and began studying the flute. After
joining the Fullerton College Community Band, she developed friendships
that helped her realize the depth of Fullerton's art culture.
She was encouraged to peruse different mediums to express her
love of art and has continued to explore, examine and expand
her art vision under the guidance of Katherine England for the
last three years, mostly playing with glass.
Jan works as a paraeducator in a class for children with autism
for the Fullerton School District. She is married to contractor/metal
artist Marc Dell'Ario and has three grown sons and a darling
toddler grandson.
Jan's own fanciful garden was the inspiration for this piece.
She hopes it inspires the children of Fullerton to spread their
artistic wings. |
